Abused men lack services on P.E.I.

Men who are abused by their partners need more services on P.E.I., says a minister who has been working with abused men for 20 years.

Alan Stewart noted last year five per cent of Islanders who reported abuse in relationships were men.

"There is no shelters for men to escape to," said Stewart.

"You can go to maybe a park and you'll find men sleeping in the park or sleeping in their car because they had to run to safety and there's nowhere to go."

Stewart said the Bedford MacDonald House is an option but it doesn't offer the same support services women get at Anderson House.

Men struggling in an abusive relationship can call community mental health or victims' services if they need help.

CAS workers confirm how they are misleading the public about being social workers

(June 14, 2011) For some time, Canada Court Watch has been pointing out that CAS workers in the Province of Ontario have been violating the law by engaging in the practice of social work and attempting to hide this by using the false title of "child protection worker"

Justice Advocates in Niagara caught CAS workers on audio recording stating that CAS workers are really social workers but that they are being told not to use this term.

This latest audio recording incorporated into a short video file (flv format) is yet another piece of evidence to show how CAS workers in the province of Ontario are breaking the law and are fully aware of what they are doing to mislead the public. DRYDEN, Ont. -- Provincial police in northwestern Ontario say two young boys are safe after allegedly being abducted in Alberta.
Police in Dryden, Ont., say they received a report from Edmonton police that a father had allegedly kidnapped his sons -- aged three and four -- and was headed to Toronto.
Investigators say officers pulled over a car late Tuesday afternoon arrested 29-year-old Ilhami Butin of Toronto.
Butin is to appear in Dryden court on Wednesday charged with two counts of child abduction, two counts of kidnapping and uttering threats.
Police say both boys are unharmed.

"He will appear before a Justice of the Peace on Jan. 15 in Dryden"
